Water Direct is the brand name of Stourbridge Water Direct Limited, a privately owned company registered in England.
Water Direct, the service and name, was conceived in 1996 and has become synonymous with quality assured alternative drinking water supplies primarily for the Water Utility sector. The name is used for consistency by our associated company Water Direct Management Limited, which manages our Water Utility emergency support contracts.
Under the brand Water Direct – Water on the Move, the two companies provide a comprehensive service of sourcing, creating, managing, maintaining, preparing and mobilising all that is required to ensure the rapid deployment of alternative drinking water supplies in whatever form is appropriate; with assurance of conformity with the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000, as amended, at the point and time of deployment.
Our primary reason to be is the rapid deployment of alternative drinking water supplies for when the normal piped supply is unavailable, unusable or inadequate. Methods of supply include;
- Bottled water, specially packaged, stored, managed and quality monitored. This is labelled as Courtesy water for drinking and cooking, incorporating customer advice
- Static water tanks for short or long term temporary storage. Services include maintaining the tanks in a state of readiness, clean, disinfected and sampled, ready for immediate deployment
- Dedicated drinking water tankers for moving water from where it is available to where it is needed. Services include filling of temporary storage tanks, direct delivery and pumping into piped networks to maintain pressure and/or volume.
Our service and reputation have grown and strengthened through achieving an unrivalled track record of successful delivery on time, every time. Water Direct now operates the only quality assured Bottled Water Bank in the UK, which exists to support any emergency where wholesome drinking water is needed fast. Our Alternative Water Container Bank currently manages approximately 2 million litres worth of storage vessel capacity, ranging in size from 1,000 to 50,000 litres. Associated plant and equipment is also available to create stand alone surrogate piped supply systems for the convenience of water on tap anywhere, any time.
