Major Water Utility joins the Nationwide Bottled Water Bank

BY RICHARD CONNOR  |  POSTED IN COMPANY NEWS

One of the UK’s largest Water Utility companies, Severn Trent Water has joined the Nationwide Bottled Water Bank operated by Water Direct. The contract was signed following a thorough audit of Water Direct’s management systems and quality control procedures.

Severn Trent Water’s Customer Relations Director Martin Kane said; “We have learned immensely useful lessons as a result of the summer floods of 2007 when thousands of our customers lost their water supply. Signing up to this nationwide bottled water bank service should strengthen our ability to respond quickly, effectively and safely should there be a need to provide our customers with an alternative water supply”

Water Direct’s MD Keith Silcock said; “We know that customers trust and respond well to bottled water as it provides a well packaged, secure, recognisable supply which, if taken from the Bank stocks, means they are assured of compliant water in an emergency. We have had a number of water utility members signed up to our Bottled Water Bank service for some years, but we are delighted that Severn Trent has now joined us as their membership acknowledges that we have the experience, pedigree, resources and speed of response that such a Utility requires. Our resilient Bank stock and multi-source service means we can provide the bottled water they need should they have to deal with a major incident."
