For many years there have been concerns about the impact of waste plastic water bottles on the environment. This has grown recently, leading to increased public awareness and driving governments and corporations to take action against pollution.
What are we doing to address the issue?
We recognise the potential environmental impact of waste from plastic water bottles which can be a necessary element of the delivery of our drinking water services. To minimise this we recycle wherever possible and encourage our customers to do the same, this is the best way to reduce the impact of plastic waste on the environment. Our customers can also rest assured that all of our bottles are 100% recyclable through household and commercial waste channels in the UK. We are also working towards more environmentally friendly processes across our business including taking steps to reduce vehicle emissions and introduction of internal energy saving practices.
We’ve taken some positive steps to ensure we minimise the impact of our activities on the environment including:
- We ensure active stock rotation in order to avoid unnecessary waste
- We assist our customers with collection and recycling of empty water bottles if they need it
- We’ve developed innovative solutions so that customers always have alternatives to consider
- We work with our producers to increase the use of recycled material in packaging across our whole supply chain
What are the alternatives?
These include our Event Recycling Kit which is designed to help manage plastic water bottle recycling at your event. We also offer other options such as:

The 1,000 litre Aqube provides quality assured water in a plastic lined, reinforced cardboard box. This can be an ideal option for short term or one-off events.
Aqube packaging is 100% recyclable which means that no collection is required. This saves our customers money and reduces vehicle emissions by preventing a second vehicle journey. |
Our static tanks are available for short and long term hire and hold between 1,100 and 10,000 litres of water each. They can be connected together making them very flexible to meet your needs.
Our static tanks don’t produce any waste material and are reusable many times, we fully clean and sample each one when it returns to our depot. |

We recommend bio-degradable paper cups for use with both of these options. These are a good alternative to polystyrene cups which are not widely recyclable in the UK.
