2020 has been a challenging year for many charities, so this Christmas, we wanted to do something to help.
Water Direct has made Christmas donations to two charities, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT), and the Kids Cancer Charity.
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust is a ‘Helicopter Emergency Medical Service’ (HEMS).
Operating within Essex, Hertfordshire, and neighbouring areas, EHAAT provides pre-hospital, life saving emergency care.
In the event of a medical emergency, it is vital to get major trauma patients to hospital as quickly as possible. Whilst ambulances can reach patients via road, helicopters are able to quickly cover wide regions and access site in rural or isolated areas.
EHAAT’s helicopters transport life saving equipment and specialist pre-hospital Doctors and Critical Care Paramedics to the scene, where they can quickly administer any immediate care, before flying the patients to an appropriate hospital for further care.
It costs £750,000 per month to run this service, so donations are vital to EHAAT. We hope our donation this Christmas will help them to maintain this lifesaving service.

The Kids Cancer Charity provides support for children with cancer, as well as their families.
Focusing on quality of life, they recognise that each child and family are unique and require individual care.
The Kids Cancer Charity provide family support, such as family days out, counselling, and befriending, as well as play therapy, compassionate care breaks, and trips to Disneyland Paris.
The Kids Cancer Charity have been providing their services for over 30 years, and as a charity, they rely on donations to continue their work.
We hope that our donation this Christmas can assist them in delivering the services that make such a difference to the children and their families.
