We recently donated over 4,000 bottles of water to charities local to our head office in Essex.
On the 26th April, our team at Water Direct went out to donate bottled water to a number of charities to help them in their missions to support people in need in the local area.
We managed to provide for five great charities across the county, these were:
Emmaus Colchester – A nationwide charity with several shelters located across the UK, providing the homeless with a home and a community for as long as they need it.
Colchester Emergency Night Shelter – This shelter provides both food and beds for the homeless and over their 30 years of experience have provided beds for people over 150,000 times and served over 300,000 meals.
HARP Southend – This charity aims to reduce homelessness in Southend-on-Sea by providing emergency housing and long-term solutions that enable people to rebuild their lives and live independently in the community.
Beacon House, Colchester – Aiming to support people with a range of creative and personalised activities, Beacon House provide practical support and shelter as well as skills classes including IT, CV writing, cooking and budgeting.
Open Road’s SOS Bus in Colchester – Open Road is a non-profit organisation specialising in drug and alcohol recovery. Their teams and services are regularly found on the streets, at festivals and at their various centres across parts of the UK to support those in need of immediate or long-term support.
During each visit, we donated numerous cases of bottled water to support each charity as well as getting to speak to the amazing volunteers that dedicate their time to improving the lives of those less fortunate and in need.
The volunteers were all extremely grateful for our support, having donated a total of 168 cases of bottled water, which is 4,032 bottles!
The bottles donated to Open Road’s SOS bus in Colchester, gives them the equivalent of a 4-month supply for those in need and for each of the shelters, provides supplies for them to handout to the people they support.
We’re really pleased to see our services benefiting such great causes and we look forward to continuing to support them and more local charities in the future.
