Water Direct has signed the Armed Forces Covenant pledge in support of the Armed Forces community.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge to ‘acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.’
The Armed Forces Covenant was introduced in 2010 to enable members of the armed forces community to have equal access to government and commercial services. To date, more than 1500 businesses and charities have signed the pledge, and Water Direct is proud to join that number.
“We have actively recruited ex-forces personnel for many years and are therefore delighted to formalise this commitment by signing the Armed Forces Covenant pledge.
We recognise the valuable experience that ex-members of the armed forces can bring to our organisation, coming to us as they do with a vast amount of transferable skills and training. In turn, and particularly as we are so close to a Garrison town, we want to support ex-military staff and their families in recognition of their contribution towards our safety and freedom.
We look forward to supporting our ex-forces community and continuing to create opportunities as part of our Armed Forces Covenant pledge.”
